Anthony Bello pulls out a nail bitter win to clinch his first win at Thompson. The 25 lap SK Lite feature on Saturday the 10th was defiantly one to watch. Bello started 3rd in the race and quickly got his way up to 2nd. The rest of the race was smooth besides one caution on lap 3. Anthony ran 2nd for the whole race until the final lap. Going down the back stretch for the final time Bello had a big enough of a run to shoot his way under the #39 of George Bessette Jr and cleared him. George crosses Anthony over and got even with him coming out of turn 4, but the momentum on the top pushed Bello just ahead to win. The finish at the line was 0.023 of a second. Anthony was extremely happy after the race and thanked his family and crew for getting him the win.
After rolling off from big success at New Smyrna Paul French decided to keep his streak alive with Anthony and have him race his number 2 car for all 6 races at Thompson Motor Speedway. Thompson will be hosting the 2021 Ice Breaker and the 2021 World series with 4 Wednesday races in between. This will be Bello's first time racing at the Thompson Speedway but he should have no problem adapting to the new track. Anthony and Paul are very exited to team up again and have even more success in 2021.

From night 3 to night 5 of the World series at New Smyrna the 602 modifieds were schedule to race, a 35 lapper on Sunday, a 25 lapper on Monday, and a 50 lapper on Tuesday to round out the week. Bello on Sunday night had a very strong run and came up about a half a car length at the line to finish 2nd.
Monday night rolled around quickly and it was a long day at the race track. The 602 race went out at 1 in the morning, bello says "This is defiantly the latest I've ever gone out for a race". Eventually the green flag dropped and the race was under way. Anthony rolled off in 5th and clamed the lead on like 3 of 25. Bello held off the rest of the fielded for the remainder of the race. Bello stated in his interview that this was his first ever modified win.
Tuesdays race was the longest and last race of the series, 50 laps were set on the board and Anthony Bello was starting on the outside pole in second. Bello was battling the whole race with the leaders and ended up second in the race. So at the end they determined the champion by how ever had the best average finish. Anthony Bello came out on top to take home his first modified championship and the first eBay 602 Modified Championship as well.
Bello Motorsports will be competing in the 2021 World Series at New Smyrna Speedway. Anthony Bello will be the behind the wheel of the #2 Paul French Sk Lite Modified. Bello will be running in the brand new eBay sponsored 602 Modified division.
How this ride came along started off with a simple post on Facebook asking if anyone had a car that was open to drive, Paul responded rather quickly and took a chance in Bello to get behind the wheel. French had known of Anthony for a good while now and saw potential in him.
So watch out for the young 15 year old Anthony Bello to make his presents known at the New Smyrna Speedway.
NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Bello Motorsports is moving forward into the 2021 season with plans of a robust schedule, running Modifieds in New England, with upcoming driver Anthony Bello.
The team has announced they will compete in the SK Modified division at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl full-time -- a track where Bello is used to running. Bello competed during the Speedbowl's limited 2020 schedule, slowed due to COVID-19, and ran successfully in a competitive class. He's looking forward to returning to the Shoreline oval in search of his first career win in the class.
Bello is also planning on running in the SK Light Modifieds at two other historic Connecticut tracks. Bello will step into the confines of the Arute-family owned Stafford Motor Speedway for the first-time, competing in their Division III class -- while he will also move over to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, at least twice, to run the prestigious Icebreaker and Sunoco World Series weekends.
Stafford is one of the top Modified tracks in the country, while Thompson, promoted by the American Canadian Tour and Pro All Star Series, has placed their own six-event schedule.
